The first "Cenote" (inlet) we visit is an open sinkhole that looks like a natural swimming pool. The water is crystal clear and we can find an impressive variety of fresh water fish. Here, first time snorkelers will have an excellent opportunity to learn how to get used to the snorkeling gear, while the more adventurous ones can try free diving to the bottom of the well or even dare to take a jump from a high cliff.
The next place we go to is an underground cavern. This place could be one of the most fascinating moments of the tour. The snorkelers jump in the water of this underground river and admire hundreds of ancient rock formations, such as stalactites and stalagmites.
The underwater reflectors and the diving lights that our staff carries during the visit to the cavern allow us to experience the feeling of the adventure surrounded by the darkness of the Xilbab the mythical underworld in the Mayan culture-. As we begin to explore the "Cenote" (inlet) we discover an entirely incredible world that lives and thrives in the deepness, where cave animals survive without sunlight and green plants. Some of the fish that live here are red tale tetras, catfish, guppies, etc.
Once everybody is ready to leave the "Cenote" (inlet) we serve a delicious Mexican buffet with a variety of soft drinks and water.
The final landscape to be explored is an enchanted ocean inlet where currents of salt and fresh water flow together forming a very unique phenomena called halocline. The lagoon has breathtaking turquoise color and lots of tropical fish. Stingrays and sea turtles may also be spotted frequently.
Altogether, this excursion lends an excellent opportunity to admire some of the most incredible Mexican natural wonders located in the Yucatan peninsula, while enjoying a typical meal. The guidance of our professional Mexican staff, the combination of idyllic places and its sacred meaning for ancient Mayans create an ambiance that our guests will hardly ever forget. The easy laughs and well founded explanations of our guides will offer a true experience of Mexico.
