| Tour Overview |
|
Visit the capital city of the Toltecas, whom were known for their master craftsmanship. At this site you will have the opportunity to enjoy the Toltecas rich artistic past. You will visit the ball courts, or colonnades, which are believed to be the first in Mexico. These ball courts contain fine stone carved figures and four 15-foot-high atlantes, or stone soldiers. These towering basalt figures resemble totem poles and are the main feature of the site. We will depart from Tula and drive to Tepotzotlan, which is a beautiful city containing much of Mexico's religious art. Here you will visit the church of Saint Francisco Xavier, known for its gold plated coverings and stunning decor.
